Esquires Glasgow – Business Week

If you’re running or starting a business in these challenging times Glasgow for Business Week is the tour de force of positive thinking you need.

On Monday morning Think Different Business Banter will look at the IT & Telecoms sector with two of the biggest companies in the sector, BT and Cisco and how businesses should look to the existing and emerging telecom technologies when planning their growth strategies.

Finance is at the heart of any business development and at the Think Different Business Banter on Tuesday morning we will consider both the traditional routes to funding via the banking sector and an alternative method via crowdfunding. In additional we will look at the legal obligations associated with funding for any company. Speakers will come from RBS, Bloom VC and Macdonald and Henderson.

Before you can grow a company you need to understand the market conditions you are entering and the PR that may be required to set you apart from your competition. On Wednesday Think Different Business Banter will consider these issues for SMEs with particular emphasis on those companies just starting out.

There are many support services available to businesses if they just know where to come. Think Different Business Banter offers one route through informal networking but other centrally funded agencies are also available to support SMEs. At Thursday morning’s Think Different Business Banter we consider a co-operative model supported by Cooperative Development Scotland, Business Club Scotland and finally Glasgow Works.

All in all a diverse programme that meets the needs of many businesses today, organised by Think Different Events Ltd. with support from Esquires Coffee House and 5th Column Digital Design.

A summary of the programme can be found here

These weekly events in Esquires bring together a broad spectrum of business people in an informal way over their first cup of tea or coffee in the morning. A chance to meet some of the people in your own network and, more importantly, a chance to meet new people too. No sales pitches. No formal presentations. No fees.

Come at anytime between 08:00 and 10:00, leave at anytime, you buy your own refreshments, you’re in control. It’s a drop-in networking event developed to suit the needs of busy people.

Esquires Glasgow – Social Media Week

Last week was Social Media Week and it came to Esquires Glasgow.

Every Thursday Business Banter holds a networking event, and they say

“Social Media Week Glasgow comes along just as the Business Banter model is evolving in a number of new and exciting directions.

Without social media, Business Banter would not have been created, would not have developed and would not have given us the wealth of opportunities to meet new business contacts and partners.

Over the course of Social Media Week Glasgow, we have organised an exciting programme of early morning events in keeping with the traditions of Business Banter with one additional ingredient. At each event, 6 speakers from a range of business areas will outline how they have used social media to develop their own or their client’s businesses.

The Business Banter events are part of a global network of events this week and a registration system has been developed to ensure that those who wish to attend each event are able to do so”
